Saga successfully raised $3.6 Million in Funding Round

Saga raised 3.6 m funding round

Decentralized gaming community project Saga has received a $3.6 million investment in funding round. Saga will use the fund to build a middleware for the metaverse, the universe of virtual worlds that are all interconnected, like in “Snow Crash” novel or “Ready Player One” film.

About Saga

Saga is a decentralized gaming community that aims to enhance and grow the metaverse by developing chain-agnostic market tools, supporting up-and-coming initiatives, and releasing the potential of metaverse owners, builders, and users everywhere. Cross-game non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which use the blockchain to authenticate special digital products, can help with this.

Saga’s first objective is to collaborate on triple-A projects that adhere to regulations and are supported by experts with extensive gaming experience. Saga affirmed it could empower players and provide the players who value these games the most administration over a substantial percentage of in-game economy by acquiring assets and resources that were previously only accessible to the wealthy.

Saga’s funding round and participants in the round

Other participants in Saga’s funding round are Animoca Brands, Delta Blockchain Fund, Genblock Capital, Moonchain Capital, Compute Ventures, NGC Ventures, Highstreet Ventures, M31 Capital, TsingTing Capital, Metal VC, PANONY, Rainmaker Games, Everest Ventures Group, vEmpire, SL2 Capital, and AAG Ventures.

A player-focused game platform called Soulbound is being developed by Saga. The business intends to establish many platform-recruited game-specific committees that will enroll players based on merit. “You will not be able to simply buy yourself onto a council, nor must you beg for a slot in some Discord chat,” the company stated in a statement on Wednesday.

Soulbound provides a set of cross-chain smart contract tools that serve as an interface between players, guilds, and games to assist in educating and boarding the next metaverse soul generation. Billions of hours and money have been invested by gamers in walled gardens that will never compensate them for the value they add. Games on the Soulbound platform will create connections rather than barriers as the gaming community expands as a whole. The Soulbound Profile, which matches players with the games that require them most and will reward them best for the skills they have demonstrated. The Soulbound Profile will allow top-tier players to demonstrate their value as gamers in real terms.

Saga is prioritizing working with regulation-compliant AAA projects backed by professionals with deep gaming roots. The mission of Saga’s activities is to “enrich and grow the metaverse by developing chain-agnostic market tooling, supporting emergent projects, and releasing the power of metaverse owners, builders, and users globally.

It plans to achieve this target by offering cross-game NFTs linked to authentic unique digital items on the blockchain.

The company is certain that its player-focused strategy will draw the best gaming professionals from the mainstream who are eager to join the blockchain gaming trend.

Regarding his company’s decision to back the project, Animoca Brands co-founder and executive chairman Yat Siu shared his thoughts:

“Saga shares our vision of an open metaverse, and we look forward to working with its team as it develops solutions to unlock the potential of blockchain gaming at scale. We are strongly encouraged by Saga’s partnerships with upcoming triple-A titles, tooling, and commitment to regulation-friendly ecosystems, and we believe that its Soulbound middleware approach will be able to assist blockchain games in growing committed player bases,”

Gamers will receive rewards from the Soulbound-based player profile ecosystem based on their platform activities. The platform has introduced a non-transferable social token (NTST) which can only be earned by converting metaverse experience points (MXP) garnered from playing activity.

Casey Grooms, head of business development at Saga shared:

“We’re very excited for the future of GameFi as we release features to integrate NTSTs across ecosystems and build a true independent profile for players in the metaverse.”
