Metaverse developer Atmos Labs received 11m seed fund

Fundraising and investment are hot  topic in the market. It still rings true to the crypto market. In today’s article, we’ll look at a hot slice and zoom in on the latest investment deal successfully secured by a web3 gaming startup. Let’s dive in!

Atmos and 11-million seed funding investment

Play-and-Earn (P&E) metaverse video game publisher Atmos Labs, Inc. Atmos, is a cutting-edge, science-fiction game developing company.

Games by Atmos Labs, Inc. combine gameplay elements from NFTs, DeFi, and gaming. True game asset ownership is provided by NFTs, but DeFi offers tiers of economic engagement to its player base. Atmos Labs has garnered lots of interest from VCs, especially prominient VCs in the market. Notably, This gaming incorporation has recently announced the closing of a $11 million seed round.

Animoca Brands, Sfermion, Collab+Currency, FBG Capital, Alumni Ventures, RedBeard Ventures, DWeb3, LD Capital, GSR Markets Limited, CoinGecko Ventures, Avocado Guild, UniX Gaming, and others were notable investors in the round.

Atmos Labs, Inc. is creating a competition-based virtual environment for esports that are native to the play-and-earn metaverse. In a brand-new virtual environment, they will specifically combine an esports component with the fan base and community that are associated with traditional sports. Experienced professionals from a variety of industries, including gaming, cryptocurrency, automobiles, industrial design, comic books, and movies, created the game and its plot.

The seed funding will be used to build the foundation of the virtual game world of Atmos, grow its community, and expand the Atmos team.

Up till now, competitive video games in virtual worlds have gained widespread acceptance. However, they have undoubtedly failed to dispel skepticism over issues like spectator validity and specific meanings of the term “game” as well.

However, the ideals of gaming and the heritage of sports should be further strengthened with the arrival of the virtual reality environment powered by blockchain technology, DeFi, and NFTs – “metaverses” – allowing the gamer and even the spectator to become a member of the ecosystem and maintain the center.

The team’s goal is to give video games the sophistication and reliability of a professional sports game.

Atmos Labs’ founder and CEO Kevin Beauregard shared:

“People are going to congregate around the spectacle of competition in the metaverse just like they do in the physical world. We are building metaverse-native sports and entertainment — a category we believe will bring excitement and substance to the metaverse concept writ large.“

Atmos Labs pledges to provide a setting where gamers may derive benefit from their games. Players may control the ecosystems they helped build and own, trade, and possess interoperable assets in non-exclusive marketplaces. Importantly, the games they are creating are genuine player-driven games, putting any blockchain-related interactions aside.

The game from Atmos labs is intended to hasten the development of Metaverse-native games, which will give players the impression that they are watching a sporting event with supporters behind them. It resembles an esports and sports hybrid.

Atmos game developers hope that the gameplay will offer a variety of captivating experiences. Players can choose to either play the game competitively or just watch, or else they can enjoy crafting in-game NFTs.

Atmos’s Next Development

In the coming months, Atmos plan to launch a transmedia campaign to draw out and explore canonical lore. At the same time, they will drop an initial shipment of playable items. The company is reaching a closed alpha for early adopters in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Players may recall the scene from Ender’s Game where he is soaring into zero gravity. In the renowned science fiction book by Orson Scott Card, teams face off in zero gravity. In an interview, Dylan Bushnell, vice president of game design at Atmos Labs, stated that this served as one of his sources of inspiration.

“We’re committed to building a world in which players can generate value from gameplay, own and trade interoperable assets in non-exclusive marketplaces, and govern the ecosystems they helped create,” Dylan Bushnell, Atmos Labs’ VP of game design, said in a statement.
