About Soba
For both novice and experienced creators, Soba is a powerful game creation platform that provides an all-in-one solution. To make the process quick and easy, the platform offers a wide range of tools and ready-made content.
Soba offers a straightforward drag and drop logic framework that fully eliminates any need for coding. It implies that you may get the same level of customizability without learning a coding language as you would with code.
The Soba platform believes that artists need to be appropriately paid for their efforts and have complete control of their works and assets. They are gradually moving towards Web3 and adopting blockchain components as a result.
With the help of Web3, they are making it possible for creators and users to be the owners of their digital assets and, in the future, to transfer those assets between projects.
Even though Soba is being developed on Web3, they are placing a premium on the game’s quality and giving players the option to play without having to purchase tokens.
The Soba’s roadmap are as follows:
Phase 1: Alpha version
This is Soba’s initial mobile release. Soba platform Alpha version open access based on a waitlist.
Phase 2: Beta version
More creators will be able to utilize the Soba platform as it enters beta. Voice chat, templates, and a ton more features will be released!
Phase 3: Global beta
In this phase, Soba will be accessible through PC in addition to mobile devices. Because of this, developers will be able to design any kind of experience.
In the global beta phase, Soba also plans to introduce the create-to-earn economy of Soba and the possibility of owning assets and original works for creators and users.
Phase 4:
Officially launching Soba platform
Soba’s investors in the seed round
The following investors have taken part in the round, including Lightspeed Venture Partners, FTX Ventures, Cherry VenturesTQ Ventures, Point Nine Capital, Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, Alvaro “Alvaro845” González de Buitrago, Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag and Tim “ClashwithAsh” Evans.
Head of FTX Ventures Amy Wu shared his thought:
“We’re proud to support Juha Paananen and the Soba team, and believe their experience will help them build a fun open-world gaming platform where Web3 can bring additional value to both players and creators.”
The Soba gaming platform will be free for everyone and available across PC, Mac, mobile devices, consoles and web browsers. Making games on the Soba gaming platform has been made possible as well, enlarging its capability to serve its potential users.
Co-founder and CEO Juha Paananen commented:
“We’re incredibly excited to launch Soba to the first group of creators and players. As we spend more time in digital environments, we believe that everyone should be able to make games and define the rules of play. At the same time, we want to enable owners of digital assets, like NFTs, to build new interactive experiences. We’re using Web3 to build the most creator-friendly gaming platform and we’re proud to be backed by an amazing group of creators and other investors.”
The Soba gaming platform is currently undergoing alpha testing phase, and anyone who’d like to try it out at this point in time can sign up for the waitlist on their website. Interested creators don’t need to know how to code, since the platform offers simple and powerful visual scripting. Soba’s mission is to inspire players and allow them to be their own creators on the Web3 platform it will create.
